Today was an awesome day! I introduced Koda to the other rats. It went better than I had hoped.
It all went like this: after I had breakfast I covered my couch in an old bed sheet and put all the rats on it to play. Koda behaved so well and showed her respect to Amy (the alpha rat) Murphy and Lola. Lola and Koda groomed in the wooden hidey hole. I videotaped a little bit(okay, okay, a lot).
Later I let the rats play in a laundry basket with a towel on the bottom. After they were all done exploring they curled up together in a rat pile. I then decided it would be okay to let them spend the night together in one cage. I disinfected the big Critter Nation cage and re-arranged all their toys and hammocks. I even moved the top half level to the right. I put them all in the cage and gave them some rice, ham, cheese and olives with the pits still inside. The rats loved their meal, nd contentedly sat eating in silance, the only thing that I could hear was quiet crunching
